PERFORMANCES FROM SIMPLY RED, LEVEL 42, THE HUMAN LEAGUE AND WILL YOUNG CONFIRMED WITH MORE ACTS TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY
Arena Racing Company’s (“ARC”) racecourses will once again entertain racegoers with exciting music acts across the group in summer 2016. Live music from top performers and DJ acts will follow racing at a number of the group’s racecourses between May and September.
On Saturday 14 May, Uttoxeter Racecourse will play host to new wave legends The Human League, with Will Young also entertaining the crowds after racing at Doncaster Racecourse. The programme of live events on Town Moor will continue throughout the summer, with Level 42 on Saturday 4 June followed up with Simply Red on Saturday 13 August.
Racegoers at Chepstow Racecourse will also be able to enjoy live musical entertainment with Will Young booked to play on Saturday 21 May and Simply Red on Friday 10 June.
In addition to the live music events on offer across ARC racecourses, Vernon Kay will be playing a series of DJ sets after racing at Doncaster Racecourse, Lingfield Park, Uttoxeter Racecourse, Royal Windsor and Sedgefield Racecourse between June and September.
Highlights of 2015 include the introduction of DJ nights on ARC racecourses for the first time, with Jo Whiley, Vernon Kay and Sara Cox playing. In addition, the live music events continued to attract large crowds, including almost 17,000 who enjoyed Madness at Doncaster in June and over 12,000 saw UB40 play Chepstow in May.
Group Operations Director for ARC, Mark Spincer, said “ARC are delighted to be offering another fantastic summer of live music events and DJ nights for racegoers across the summer months.
“2015 was a very strong year for our music events, with a number of bands proving to be very popular. We are really looking forward to welcoming Simply Red, Level 42, The Human League and Will Young onto our racecourses and will use this opportunity to promote our racing product to what is often a new audience.
“In addition, the DJ nights that we hosted in 2015 proved incredibly popular, so we are delighted to have got such a popular figure as Vernon Kay in place to entertain our customers throughout the summer.”
